I am very excited for this trip, to get to see other clubs around the country and spread the knowledge. Hopefully we can encourage and inspire other clubs through our visit, so we can keep growing the sport.

I played for 7 years for the same club team in Brazil, called Botafogo (2003-2009) Then I moved to Norway and joined Sunnfjord Folkehogskule (2009-2010), followed by one season playing for OsloVolley Elite (2010-11). At OsloVolley I got to coach a few boys teams and mini volleyball (u13 and u15).

Then I decided to go to Canada to study and play volleyball. Played for the Lethbridge Kodiaks for 2 seasons (2011-13), then the Camosun College Chargers (2013-2016). While playing for the Kodiaks I coached a u18 boys team LCC. While playing for the Chargers, we were 2-time provincial champions back to Back in 2015/2016, and national champions in 2015. That was the first ever National Title for the Chargers so it was very special.

Then I graduated and became an assistant coach at Camosun, which was awesome to see everything from a whole new perspective (2016-17).

I’ve been a volleyball coach in 4 different countries so it is fun to be able to use the knowledge I’ve gained through all of these experiences on the court.

In late 2016 I got a call from Førde Volleyballklubb as they needed a setter on their men’s team, and I’ve been in Førde since then. In 2018 I stepped up as the head coach of the Women’s Elite Team. These are some of the titles I’ve won with the men’s and women’s teams on Førde:

As a player:

– Mizunoliga 2016/17

– Mizunoliga 2018/19

– Cupfinal 2019

– Cup final 2020

– Best setter 2019/20

As a coach of the Women’s Elite team:

– Mizunoliga 2017/18

– Coach of the Year 2017/2018

– Cupfinal 2018

– Cup final 2019

Last spring I joined the Norwegian national team program. I am an assistant coach with the women’s senior national team and the head coach of the junior national team.

I’ve been a volleyball coach in 4 different countries so it is fun to be able to use the knowledge I’ve gained through all of these experiences on the court.

Hva er dine tanker om minivolleyball?

I think the mini volleyball concept is very important if you think of volleyball as a progression. It’s important to take one step at a time. Through minivolleyball we can create a good base for functional  movement and develop skills such as space awareness, depth perception and hand-eye coordination, as well as, of course, throwing, catching, hopping, side shuffling, running, etc. So minivolleyball is a great first step into the game of Volleyball.
